Audio recordings
AdminYou can attach a voice recording to any page — someone reading the letter aloud, a grandchild introducing the photo, a story told out loud. Recordings play right on the page next to the caption.
Recording
- Open the page you want to attach audio to.
- Press the Record button near the caption.
- Your browser will ask permission to use the microphone. Say yes.
- A small red dot and a timer appear. Start speaking.
- Press Stop when you’re done.
While recording, the page shows a timer and a Stop button.
Previewing
After you stop, you’ll see a small audio player. Press play to hear your recording. If it’s not right, press Discard and record again.
Trimming
Before you save, press Trim to cut off the awkward start (“okay, am I recording yet?”) or the tail.
- Play the recording and note where you want it to actually start and end.
- Type those times into the Start and End boxes as
mm:ss. - Press Preview Selection to hear just that slice.
- If it’s right, press Save Trim.
Saving & attaching
Press Save to attach the finished recording to the page. It appears with a small audio player for anyone reading the book. Your display name is shown with the recording.
Replacing or removing
To replace a recording, delete the existing one and record a new one. Press Delete next to the audio player and confirm.
Book-level recordings
On the book’s cover page, the same Record button attaches audio to the whole book instead of one page — use this for an introduction or a dedication.
One or two minutes is usually the right length for a page. Longer stories are fine on the cover or on a page group intro.
