Reviewing suggestions

Admin

When family members suggest a correction to a caption, their suggestion lands in your Admin panel. You can accept it (and the caption updates), decline it with a reason, or leave it open while you check.

Opening your inbox

Open the book, then open the menu () in the top-right corner and pick Admin. A little number badge next to the item shows how many suggestions are pending. Inside the panel, look for Pending Suggestions. Family admins can also open Admin Activity to see suggestion submissions and review actions across the whole active family.

The Story of My Life

Open the menu to find Admin. The number badge shows how many suggestions are waiting.

A single suggestion

Each suggestion shows: who sent it, when, which page it refers to, and what they think should change.

Reviewing

  1. Press Open Page to jump straight to the page in question. You’ll want to see the image and existing caption before you judge the suggestion.
  2. If you agree: press Apply. This takes you to the caption editor with the suggestion in context — make the change and save. The suggestion is marked as applied.
  3. If you disagree: press Decline. You’ll be asked for a short reason (optional but kind). The suggester won’t get an email, but they’ll see their suggestion marked as declined next time they visit.

When a suggestion is unclear

Sometimes you can’t tell from the note what exactly to change. You have a few options:

Be generous

A family member took the time to write this. Even if the correction isn’t quite right, the fact that they noticed anything is useful — maybe the caption is ambiguous and needs to be clearer. When in doubt, accept and refine rather than decline.

Where the history lives

Applied suggestions show up in the caption’s version history, with the suggester’s name credited.
