People directory

The People Directory lists everyone who appears in the family’s books. Open someone’s profile to see their photos and every page they’re on.

Opening the directory

Press People at the top of the home page or any book. A side-panel slides out with a searchable list.

This book or all books

When you open the directory from inside a book, a dropdown at the top lets you choose between the people who appear in that book (the default) and All Books — everyone across the family’s books. Page counts match the choice: in book view they count only pages in that book. Opened from the home page, the directory always shows everyone.

Searching

Start typing in the search box and the list filters in real time. It matches anywhere in the name, so you can type “ree” to find Reed or “martha” to find Aunt Martha. Search stays within whichever book scope you’ve picked.

Someone’s profile

Click a person in the list to open their profile. You can also get there by clicking their name in a caption, or by clicking one of their recognized faces and then clicking the name on the face card. You’ll see:

• Their name and any biography the family has written.
• A gallery of their recognized faces from different photos.
• A list of every page they appear on — click any page to jump straight there.

Jumping to a page from a profile

Click any page number in the “Appears on” list and the book opens to that page. The People panel stays out until you close it.

Clicking a name in a caption

Names in gold (like [[John Reed]] in a caption) are shortcuts to that person’s profile. Clicking is the fastest way to see where else someone appears.
