Book description
AdminEach book can have a short visible description. It appears on the home-page book card and in the About This Book panel on the cover page.
Where to find it
Open a book, press Admin, then open Pipeline. Near the top of the Pipeline page there is a section called Visible Description.
Writing it yourself
Type directly into the Book Description box, then press Save Description. The new text becomes visible right away on:
- The book card on the family home page.
- The cover-page caption area labeled About This Book.
A few clear sentences work best. This text is meant to help someone understand what the book is before they open it.
Generating a draft with AI
Press Generate Draft with AI to have the app suggest a description based on the book's existing captions, page-group summaries, people mentions, and AI context.
The generated text is only a draft. It fills the editor, but it does not go live until you press Save Description.
Unsaved work protection
If you have typed changes that are not saved yet, the app asks before replacing them with an AI-generated draft.
Visible description vs. Book Context
The Visible Description is reader-facing text. The nearby Book Context section is different: it feeds background information to AI tools and does not change the text shown on the card or cover page by itself.
AI drafts can be a strong starting point, but they may miss tone or emphasis that your family prefers. Read the draft and edit it before saving.
