Reading sequences

Everyone

Some books contain a run of pages that should be read together, such as a journal. Those pages can open in a calmer reading view while still keeping the original scanned page beside the text.

Opening one

When a page belongs to a sequence, its caption area shows a reading sequence banner with an Open link. The reading view has a back button that returns to the page you were viewing.

Text layers

The reading view can show readable text, the original transcript, or an English translation when one exists. The scan remains visible so you can compare the text against the source page.

For organizers

Organizers and admins can create or edit reading sequences from the Admin panel. A sequence stores only metadata and boundaries; page images, captions, transcripts, people, faces, comments, and thumbnails remain owned by the pages themselves.

If a sequence says it needs review

A page may have been moved or removed inside its range. An organizer can open the Admin panel, adjust the range, and save it as confirmed again.
